Film about Kamchatka trip

To keep the memory about amazing adventure to Kamchatka we made a film about our trip.
During the trip there was everything: hard trekking for 80 km in 3,5 days, songs and noises to scare bears away, snow and forest, hiking to the top of two volcanoes, helicopter trip to Gayzer valley, rafting, boat trip to Pacific Ocean, fishing for flatfish, eating of sea urchin and caviar with spoons.
Thanks to our guide to keep us safe and for organising such an intense programm.

We will definitely come again! May be now in winter, when bears are sleeping :)

Some people were saying, I'm crazy to go to the other part of the world being pregnant. Some people were saying it is too expensive to spend you one month salary on a two week trip. Some people were just worried that we will be eaten by a bear...
But...
We did not listen to enybody and let our dream come true!

Дорогие и любимые! Спасибо вам всем, что были с нами и разделили нашу радость. Это было очень и очень здорово!

В день нашего бракосочетания мы с Аркашей исполнили мечту: забрались на крышу нашей любимой alma mater, крышу МГУ. Почувствовали себя только что познакомившимися студентами, бегали и прыгали как сумасшедшие. Не забываемые впечатления и обалденный вид!

Back to CPH

When I steped out from the plane I could not stop smiling. I'm happy. I'm juming. I'm back to Copenhagen!
I'm going to see my friends, I'm going to run, I'm going to shop and I'm going to talk science! It is my first talk at such a big meeting. I got 15minutes. Same much as the best people in Chromatin, Replication and Chromosomal Stability field. A little bit scary, but very EXCITING!

Wedding. Freaking out mood

I guess, I already told to most of the people, but if I did not, I say this now.
We are getting married!!!
It is very exciting, but also it started to be quite stressing.

Arkady has proposed me a long time ago, but it took a year to give an answer. I had no doubts that Arkady is the best guy for me. We just had never time to really talk about this and my brain was too occupied with the PhD dissertation. You know, this scientists are horrible! :)

 Look, what a master piece he created to impress me:

 These letters on the snow are gigantic: each of them is at least 1m high and there are roses inside. I still don't know, where he found so much roses in January in the small village of my parents. I found the writing "Ilnaz, marry me"early morning 5th of January 2012 on the snow under my parents balcony.
I know, I'm really slow and I don't know how Arkady manages to still love me. But after a year, I said "YES!". It is an amazing felling to reallies that we will be together forever. Even if it sounds stupid and too romantic.

Trying to adapt CPH style in Moscow

Two days ago one of my childhood wishes came true. I went for the ballet class!!! Emerging me, trying to stand next to ballet bar and doing smth similar to ballet poses. I was the only one, who came for the first time and I could not follow the moves even though they looked so simple! Now all my legs hurt like I run a  marathon. Ballerinas are crazy strong ladies! Anyway, I will go again on Monday. I liked it. Moves were so beautiful that I want to be able to do the same. At least I want to be better then the cow dancing ballet :)

One more new thing that I'm trying is a makeup course! I already went 3 time and I have one lesson to go. It is organized by my friend who is selling cosmetics MaryKay. Of cause there is a lot about cosmetics from this particular brand, but there is really a lot of info how to take care of the skin and how to actually make makeup and highlight your own beauty :) If I will practice enough, you will not recognize me! I will be real Russian beauty with rainbow of colors on my face:)))))

Yesterday it was amazing day! I took the bike and made a very long trip to Kremlin, to Tretiakovskaya gallery (that's about 8,5km) through the city center. I know, you will think it is not much, but believe me to do so in Moscow is challenging. No bike roads, plenty of cars and too many people on the side walks. But I made it! I had so much fun! It was almost +20, sunshine and other bikers (2 or 3) were giving me greeting smiles. I had great breakfast with my friend and went to the Italian consular to get my visa to Rome! Now everything is settled and I'm meeting with Cons, Caro and Katrine in a month!!!

 I also finally got debit cards from Russian banks and now can leave almost normal life and do not have cash in my pockets, which saves me from spending everything. Unfortunatelly it does not save me from e-shopping. Cons, what should I do? :)
I know, the most interesting thing for you is how my job search is going on. It is not easy. I'm trying to find my place in different companies and different positions, but there is no final answer yet. I will let you know when it comes!

Today is sunny and great. I'm thinking to take the bike and go somewhere cycling to try not to think about this stupid rejection and crash of my NSMB dream. I don't know how it is possible that I still like science :)

New start

My Russian-Danish-French outfit represents all stuff that did not fit into my luggage 

It is already 5th day since I moved back from Copenhagen to Moscow. I dream about his move and was looking forward so much for this! Now the dream comes true and I'm starting new life in Russia with my boyfriend in the same boat.

Arkady was so sweet, when he met in the airport! He appeared with the bouquet of flowers and a balloon saying that he loves me. Great evening and big reunion of the future family :)

Best Lab Ever

Did I tell you that I have Best Lab Ever?
I'm so lucky to have all these guys around me! Lab work can be fun, revording, but mostly hard. Without you, my best-ever-friends I would not survive my PhD studies!

One of the best presents i got for my PhD viva is video with our stupid lab jokes. I already watched it hundred times! Now it is time to share this piece of art :)

New pet/Новое домашнее животное

Некоторые люди заводят сабак и кошек. У других есть папугаи, мышки и хомячки. Мои же родители завели... КОЗУ! Теперь они могут практиковаться в приготовлении козьего сыра и жить идеальной сельской жизнью :)

Some people get dogs, some people get cats. There are even some people with parrots, mice and hamsters. My parents got... a GOAT! Now they can practice in making goat cheese and live a perfect farmer-life.

Downs in PhD life

Silently crying... My favorite boss does not have time to meet, to read the manuscript and submit paper... Why it is so difficult to finish PhD??? Feel helpless, lonely and very sad.

 

And my desire to get out is unbearable :)

 

Вишневый цвет

Здание нашего биоцентра сказочно преобразилось за последние дни. Теперь это уже не скучное серое здание из стекла и бетона, а милый утопающий в вишневом цвете институт. Вот бы весна никогда не кончалась!

Tossa de Mar, Costa Brava -day 1

Как только я приезжаю из одного отпуска, я сразу же мечтаю о следующем. Вот так и живем - от каникул до каникул. Наконец-то дошли руки покопаться в бесконечных залежах фоток из отпуска в Испании и нашего с Аркашей автопробега по побережью Costa Brava. Первая остановка пришлась на маленький и уютный город Tossa de Mar. Сама бы я, наверно, не нашла этот городок на карте, мне его порекомендовал знакомый родом из тех мест. По его убеждению, Тосса - самый красивый город на побережье. Мнение его правда очень предвзято, он как раз родился в Тоссе.

A Folk Tale/Сказка

Мое знакомство с датским народным творчеством началось совсем недавно. Мы посмотрели красивейшую балет-сказку про троллей и эльфов "A Folk Take". А между делом воображали себя балеринами и практиковали па в холлах датской королевской оперы.

Football excitement / Футбольный азарт

Футбол в живую - это совсем не то же самое, что по телевизору. Даже самый равнодушный к футболу человек, то есть я, заинтересовался, нарисовал флаги на щеках и весь матч скандировал "Россия"! Разве можно было пропустить удовольствие по болеть за любимую страну, увидеть футбольных звезд совсем вблизи и спеть гимн?

Watching football in reality is definitely not the same as on the TV. Even the most football indifferent person like me got interested, draw flags on the cheeks and chanted "Russia" all the match. How could I miss the opportunity to cheer my favourite country, see russian football stars and sing the gimn?
